ACTOR HEADSHOTS BIRMINGHAM - A GUIDE

The focus of your actor headshot should be fully concentrated on your face and in particular your eyes. So, try to avoid wearing distracting clothing, avoiding patterns and logos is usually a good start. Colours that match your eye colour or a colour that is the opposite of your eye colour on the colour wheel . Large jewellery can also distract the viewer so bare this in mind when selecting your outfits. I usually suggest bringing three different tops to your shoot and at least one that shows your neck line. But, if you want to be flamboyant and bring something amazing, go right ahead. If you are wearing make- up keep it paired down and not over dramatic, unless you are going for one specific casting. If you have long hair that can worn in different ways we usually begin with the hair down and shoot all three tops, then tie the hair up and repeat so that we get the best results. And remember, there are many different roles for actors and many of them will involve you not always looking over smily and too pretty, so be prepared to try a few different looks, expressions and poses to give you the opportunity to get casted for a great role
