Paul Pickard is a renowned photojournalist and portrait photographer. His work has been displayed in galleries at home and abroad, and he has contributed to more than fifty different titles. 

Paul began his career as a freelance photographer in the music industry and became a regular contributor to the New Musical Express, the NME, shooting a varied selection of artists 

At the same time Paul also worked as a 35mm printer, developing and printing black and white exhibition prints, a skill that won him several awards in both Ilford and Kodak competitions

Paul studied Photojournalism in Sheffield and was awarded the Student of the Year Prize at Journalism College by former Editor of The Times, Harold Evans, leading to a career as a full-time Photojournalist 

He's covered assignments for both the National and International Press, shooting Wembley Cup Finals, Terrorist Bombings, Civil Unrest, Air Disasters, as well  portrait sessions with Sophia Loren,  The Royals, Hugh Grant  and Warwick Davis, and whoever happened to be Prime Minister at the time

 Paul's skill, enterprise and good humour earned him many awards for both his photography and his printing skills, including the National News Picture of the Year for an image showing a daring rescue from a crashed passenger jet, one of the judges, former Picture Post Photographer Bert Hardy, said " Paul has great observational skills, he's a witty photographer "Paul has contributed to NGO's including regular work for Amnesty International 

The Olympic Games saw Paul awarded the prestigious role of shooting teams and individual portraits of Olympians at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall

Paul's work has been seen in several films including the Shane Meadows biopic of The Stone Roses - Made of Stone

These days Paul shoots a fresh mix of editorial and corporate styled work, as well as shooting new and established actor portraits and headshots in his Midlands based Professional  Photography Studio 

He is always receptive to new clients, new ideas and collaborations
